Briarwood

WILLOW GLEN

For this project, I worked with empty nesters who wanted a home that was built for grown-ups, but could transform into a family space and accommodate hosting larger events for friends and family.

The design centers on warm-neutral tones with transitional feel and subtle pops of color on the neutral background.

One of my favorite parts of the design is the master bathroom we transformed from a not so "master" space, into a spa like oasis.

THE MASTER BATHROOM

The original floor plan for the "Master Bath" was limited on space and storage.  By having both the shower and sink in corners, the layout felt awkward and underutilized.  The shower itself was so small the client opted to use their guest bathroom shower the majority of the time.

Leading into the bathroom was a small hallway with "walk-in' closets on each side.  The must have for this bathroom was to keep the plumbing footprint as similar as possible, increase the shower size, increase storage and still have a large walk-in closet.

THE FINAL RESULT

Since the couple's master bedroom has ample square footage, by pushing the walls from the closets a couple of feet into their bedroom, removing walls between the closets and bathroom, and closing off one side of the larger walk-in closet to create a long walkway coming into the master bedroom, I was able to increase the overall square footage of the bathroom.

The end result is a light, spacious and luxurious master bath with high end finishes, ample storage, including a custom walk-in closet, complete with an 8-foot-long shower with a bench and THREE shower heads.
